"I came to learn about a ‘Social Skills’ group that the Center would be holding 2 nights a week for 8 weeks at a time. The group’s goal was to focus on social interaction with both typical and non-typical peers. Though most of their activities are Center-based they would also include sensory field trips to the grocery store, travel to the beach and have mini golf outings. My daughter has literally come out of her groups rambling on about playing with the different children and all of the activities they had completed that evening! Rambling! MY daughter! After the first few groups, we had already noticed significant changes in her manners – “Please, Thank You, etc” we also noticed her willingness to share with her sister and brother. Most importantly, she was more aware of my directions. This hits home the hardest because she is a runner. Do to the intervention from her teachers at day school and her ongoing work with the amazing employees at Schwartz – my daughter is a safer child.
