Programs and Services
Programs and services for children with special health care needs
The Schwartz Center for Children offers a variety of programs to enrich the lives of children with all types of medical needs who live in Southeastern Massachusetts. We provide individualized services to children from infancy to young adulthood in our Dartmouth facility as well as in the family home and in community settings.
We understand the concerns of families when it comes to their child’s development, and will work to ensure that children are getting services and treatments that can help them achieve their greatest potential.
How we can help
Our Early Intervention program is for children who are newborn through the age of three that have been either diagnosed, or at risk of having a developmental delay. We work with the parents and families of eligible children to ensure that they are acquiring the skills they will need to grow up happy and healthy.
Our private Day School program is designed to serve students with multiple disabilities year round, providing them with a unique curriculum including therapeutic, educational and nursing services.
Our Outpatient Rehabilitation program provides therapy services to children and adolescents. We have a staff of experienced speech language pathologists; physical therapists; occupational therapists, and assistants on hand to work on an individualized plan for each child.
Our Regional Consultation Program sends early childhood professionals to train families and child care providers in matters involving children with complex medical care requirements.
Our other programs include a variety of pediatric Specialty Clinics; a Developmental Evaluation Clinic; educational and support programs for families; and services for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
