Fishing for a Cause a Great Success

The Schwartz Center's 1st Annual 'Fishing For A Cause' fundraiser proved to be a great success. The 2 day event, held June 17 - 18 on Pope's Island in New Bedford raised nearly $55,000, the net proceeds of which benefited the Center's programs and services.
Highlights of the weekend included a seaside dinner on Friday night, a BBQ and awards ceremony on Saturday, and of course, lots of fishing! Tournament winners are as follows:
Striper: 1st place - John Whittemore, 2nd place - Rick Hersom, 3rd place - Ralph Hersom
Bluefish: 1st place - Emily Rader, 2nd place - John Whittemore, 3rd place - Connor Rader
Fluke: 1st place - Joanne Cameron, 2nd place - Joshua Philips
Planning is already underway for next year's event. Congratulations to all tournament participants and THANK YOU to all who attended the festivities!
